Most screen printing squeegees are manufactured from PU (polyurethane) material. Based on factors such as the characteristics of the printed substrate, the precision requirements of the printed image, and variations in printing methods, squeegees with different hardness levels and cross-sectional profiles can be selected accordingly.
The hardness of a squeegee specifically refers to the surface hardness of the rubber. It is typically measured using the Shore hardness scale, with common options including 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, and 85 Shore A.
In terms of cross-sectional shape, squeegee blades are generally available in several standard designs, such as right-angle profiles and sharp-angle profiles, each suited to different printing applications.
Common specifications include sizes such as 50 × 9 mm, 40 × 7 mm, and 25 × 5 mm, among others. Regardless of the specific type or size, all squeegee rubber strips can be easily trimmed using dedicated rubber strip scissors, resulting in a clean, smooth, and glossy cutting edge.
